Hi, I’m Brook!
Here are a few honest things about me -
I typically head into something full steam ahead or overthink it to the point of not starting. I love trying new things, but don't handle failing well. I love getting to know people and making people laugh. I love bringing others up and making people smile! My husband is my number one fan and has slowly become more of an outdoor person, even if it's because I started something and he gets talked into helping! We have two curious kiddos, a large dog, two farm kitties, and one bunny.
I love growing gardens, flowers and veggies along with building things and building people up. We have come so far in the few years since starting my flower farming venture! I wouldn’t be this far without the hours of research, trial, error, and support from family and friends!
My first memories of gardens were my grandpa's fruitful vegetable garden that he tended perfectly and my grandma's flower gardens that she always ensured had the right things in the right places. Now, I have the opportunity to teach my children about the earth around us and how to care for the land. Growing up I did more observing than participating, typically because it felt like my skills were called in when it was time for weeding. Ugh. I hate weeding. But now it's my turn to be able to grow my skills and hopefully pass my love for the earth around us to my kiddos.
The last few years I did a lot of photography and I yearned for beautiful backdrops in an easily accessible location. So I started dreaming of gardens and flowers and gathering. I was gifted a book for Christmas about starting a cut flower garden. The perfect solution to be able to earn extra for my family and create beauty for others while my career took a backburner to raising my kiddos!
The first year of growing flowers for cutting was fun and challenging at the same time! Trying to balance when to cut for bouquets and when to leave the flowers for the backdrops became intimidating. So this year photography took a backseat and the blooms for bouquets became the focus. It’s crazy how things evolve, isn’t it?!
My goal now is to expand gardens around the farm to offer relaxing areas to gather and provide cut flowers to take home as a reminder of the peace one felt among the flowers. Until then, we are working towards this dream offering flower bouquets, buckets of blooms, weekly or biweekly summer flower deliveries, bloom bars, the occasional u-pick and lots of smiles.
