What’s happening this week - 6/14/2024
Happy JUNE! How is it already the middle of June?!?! I’m sure you’ve noticed the weather, it’s hot, it’s cold, it’s REALLY hot - the flowers noticed too. That means we are in a weird time on the farm. Spring flowers are ending and the true summer flowers are still a few weeks away. For now we have a few varieties of flowers that are perfect for making a simple beautiful bouquet including my favorite, yarrow! The stand is still not by the road, but if you reach out to me I will more than happy to make you something special! Alternatively, if you are in town go visit The Clipper Ship hair salon to grab some happiness in the form of flowers. The cutest delivery boys drop off with me on Tuesday (around noon) and flowers are available through the weekend while they are open 10 - 4ish unless we sell out!
We are excited about bugs around here! Spotted on the farm are ladybugs, green lacewings, and butterflies! Ladybugs and lacewings help keep some of the pest bugs in check. I love seeing how nature finds a way to balance out! I’m also adding in microscopic worms to help combat some of the negative bugs eating the flowers. Fingers crossed we see a difference quickly!
Photographers are welcome to reach out if interested in a natural area to photograph individuals. We have a curvy path full of tall grasses and wildflowers filling in along with our flower circle with fragrant sweet william.
Flower subscribers should expect a text or email from me in the next few weeks confirming summer subscription information! I hope you are as excited as I am!
